π About BasketballOfficials.org
Who We Are
BasketballOfficials.org is an independent, educational website created to help basketball officials, referees, and instructors stay informed on the rules of the game. The site offers a single, easy-to-use reference for rule changes, case plays, and interpretations across every level of basketball β from high school to international play.
We are not affiliated with any governing organization. All information is gathered from publicly available or educational sources, with the goal of helping officials strengthen their knowledge, confidence, and consistency on the court.
Our Mission
To make basketball rules clear, accessible, and comparable for every official β from the new volunteer in youth leagues to veteran high school and college referees.
We believe that when officials understand the why behind a rule, they call the game better, teach more effectively, and elevate the sport as a whole.
Our Vision
To build a comprehensive, cross-referenced rules library that helps officials:
- Understand whatβs changed and why it matters
- Compare language between NFHS, NCAA, NBA, and FIBA rulebooks
- Review case plays and interpretations for real-world application
- Learn through context and conversation, not just rule text
How to Use This Site
- Browse the NFHS Rules Hub to view the latest changes and interpretations.
- Use the Glossary to search or filter by year, rule, or topic.
- Subscribe to stay informed when new content is added.
- Check back soon as we expand to include NCAA-M, NCAA-W, NBA, and FIBA content.
